Well it's been a whole year since The Travel Journal took flight (so much has happened in that time, we are certainly a lot greyer) our passport's have never felt so unloved and bodies so pasty!
Like all holidaymakers our travel plans for 2021 have been severely disrupted by traffic-light updates and constant changes in government advice but determination will always succeed. This will be our 3rd complete re-book for our annual August bank holiday long weekender, let's just keep everything crossed it's third time lucky?!
Whilst we share our frustration in booking a holiday in such volatile times, we know that once we get on that plane it will have been worth every anxiety, test, and hoop we have had to jump through to get there...after all, who would trust a travel agent, that doesn't actually travel themselves?!
Our travels will be taking us all the way across the Pennines to Manchester airport where we will be overnighting (this is the first time we have stayed in an airport hotel in about 3yrs...even that will be a novelty) then up, up, up, and away to Kefalonia, a Greek island we became very fond of on our last COVID escape in summer 2020, but this time we will be exploring a completely different part of the island. Follow our holiday on Instagram @benthetraveljournal for an insight into our travels, along with top tips for navigating your way to foreign shores during these confusing times of travel.
Meanwhile we would like to wish all our clients, followers, and admirers a lovely August bank holiday...we will be thinking of you from our sun-loungers whilst indulging in a cocktail or three!
