Ice Ice Baby!

Well it's happened. Ben turned 40 at the weekend. To mark the milestone we are heading out to Reykjavik later this week to celebrate in true Icelandic style! With this in mind the agency will be closed between Wednesday 09th & Saturday 12th November to allow Ben some 'big birthday' downtime and to explore his Viking roots!?!

Iceland is a destination that always proves popular with our clients, whether it be a winter citybreak in search of the northern lights or a bespoke summer self-drive adventure, there is literally something for everyone and we can't wait to discover the destination for ourselves. Our itinerary will include a search for the northern lights (by boat), a foodie walking tour of downtown Reykjavik, a trip out to the Blue Lagoon, and a few other cultural experiences whilst also allowing time to experience the brand new Reykjavik Edition Hotel which has recently opened right next to the iconic Harpa Concert Hall on Reykjavik harbour.

Is Iceland/ Reykjavik on your bucket list? Then get in touch with Ben on his return and I'm sure he would be delighted to tell you all about it!

Finally. Do you make regular visits down to London, or are you planning a pre-Christmas shopping trip, or maybe thinking of treating a loved one to a luxury break away to the big smoke? The Travel Journal are thrilled to announce their recent partnership with the fabulous 5* The Beaumont Hotel, Mayfair. All clients that book The Beaumont through The Travel Journal will automatically receive exclusive benefits and rates that are not available online. Never heard of The Beaumont? Then read all about it here...

''The Beaumont is an independent, privately-owned five-star hotel in London. Superbly located on a quiet garden square in the heart of Mayfair, the hotel occupies a historic 1926 building. Grand in style yet intimate and welcoming, its design inspired by the great Art Deco hotels of the 1920s, with beautifully appointed rooms and public areas full of original art and antiques, The Beaumont recaptures the luxurious spirit of a gentler era.

Since opening in September 2014, it has earned numerous awards, including the Automobile Association Best Hotel in London, as well as being featured on the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List multiple years running, named as one of TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Hotels in the World and also as Best Small Hotel in the World by Gallivanter’s Guide.

In 2021, the hotel underwent a gentle refurbishment of its bars and restaurants, which saw the addition of a brand-new lounge and an al fresco dining terrace, under the creative direction of the leading New York-based designer Thierry Despont, adding new layers of comfort and luxury.''
